Indiana County Recording by Greg Rishell November 28, 2008 at 11:00 pm.
Greg Rishell and PBS member and investigator Phil Brocco were in a very wooded area at a gas well where there had been previous activity experienced by Greg, Phil and Gregs family which included hearing movement of something large in the forest at night, seeing eye shine, hearing grunting, having rocks thrown at Greg and his family accompanied by a very foul odor and also finding unusual stick stackings. On this night in question, Greg and Phil parked the vehicle about a mile from the location. They hiked in a mile on the gas well line to this remote location. Once there they set up their observation post at a gas drilling well. It was after 11:00 pm as they were talking, Phil was banging a large stick against the protective wall surrounding the gas well. As he did, you will hear Greg say, wait phil, did you hear that. Then about 5 seconds into the recording you will begin to hear a very unusual sound that was recorded.
This sound lasts approximately 10 to 15 seconds before fading.
Greg and Phil stated these sounds were coming from unseen animals that seemed to be circling the clearing where they were standing before eventually moving away and out of hearing range.
These sounds have been analyzed and listened to by several authorities on animal sounds including Wild life biologist and naturalist Tim Cassidy and a zoologist from the Cleveland Zoo. Tim’s opinion is that the sound is very primate like. The Zoologist states that the sound is very similar to that of a peacock. The location in question is not suitable for peacocks, none have been seen in the area and the weather conditions were not suitable for a peacock, let alone a flock of peacocks. At this time we are unable to positively identify these sounds. Greg is asking for other opinions and thoughts on these recordings. We can positively identify what type of animal made theses sounds, although there are several suggestions that perhaps the sounds did come from an unknown primate or primates. What do you think?
Let us know at contact@pabigfootsociety and let greg know at [email protected].
At the 13.5 second mark you hear the animals faintly begin to make the noise. Then they move closer and can be heard at 21 seconds. Then you hear them again at 35 seconds much closer to Greg and Phil. The entire recording is over an hour and half but these sounds are edited and amplified to include the sounds only and removing the unnecessary other parts of the recording. Could these be coyotes? Fox? Turkeys? What do you think these sounds could be? Let us know your feedback.

Fayette County Recordings by Eric Altman, Chris and Connie Brinker September 11, 2011 between 1:20 AM and 2:15 AM.
These recordings were captured during an investigation on the 2011 PBS Fall Expedition. We were contacted by the supervisor of a security team that was responsible for guarding a construction site in a remote area of Forbes State Forest in Fayette County. The team reported hearing strange sounds including screams, growls, whoops, moans and wood knocking almost on a nightly basis at the construction site. The area is very remote, heavily wooded and has a long history of sightings and encounters with Bigfoot like creatures. We can not positively identify these sounds, however we do find them intriguing and very unusual. We invite you to share your thought with us, feedback, or if you are able to positively identify them, please email us at [email protected]. To read more about the investigation go to the recent sighting reports tab and scroll down to Fayette County September 2011 report. You can also see the photos from the day time investigation listed on the PBS photo page under Fayette County September 10 and 11, 2011 listing. Please see the transcripts before each recording to better understand the circumstances of each sound and what the investigators were saying during the recordings. Some of the recordings are distant and faint, and we have enhanced the sounds to the best of our ability by amplifying the sounds.
9-12-2011 1:55 AM
Four unknown moans recorded followed by three high pitch screams.
This recording was captured by Eric Altman recorded on his Zoom Q3 digital Recorder between 1:55 am and 2:15 am. The recording has been amplified to better hear the sounds as they were distant. Also, most of the recording not pertinent to the sound file were deleted to eliminate unnecessary content.
Here is the transcript of the recording to follow along. Connie Brinker says “Stand by for chris’ bobo yell. 5 seconds to 10 second on recording, Chris Brinker doing a yell. Eric Altman says “Dave wants to hear that again.” Dan does yell from 18 to 23 seconds on recording. Dave Rupert says “ have him do it but hold the note a tad longer this time.” Dan does second yell from 30 to 38 seconds on recording. Dave Rupert says “Ok, we’re impressed.”
Connie Brinker says “Repeat that?” Dave Rupert Replies “We’re Impressed.” Connie Brinker says, that wasn’t Chris, that was Dan the last two.”
Eric Altman says “I’ll try doing one, ok. I’ll do a regular male voice.” Unknown person, possible one of the team members does a yell before Eric could do his yell at 1:01 to 1:09 on the recording. Eric Altman says “That was not me.” Connie Brinker replies,” I think that was Ron and them.” Dave Rupert says “Ok, you’re good.”
At 1:18 to 1:23 an unknown moan captured.
It was later confirmed that was no one in the group although we did not know it at the time as we thought it was one of the team members doing a call without announcing it. Eric Altman does call from 1:24 to 1:29. Immediately following Eric’s yell, there is a distant reply.
At 1:31 to 1:36 second unknown moan captured.
Very similar to the sound at 1:18 to 1:23. Dave Rupert replies, “Ok?” Eric Altman says “ Was that somebody?” Connie Brinker says “Was that the recording?”
1:41 to 1:46 a third unknown moan is captured.
In the middle of the call, Dave Rupert replies “Yeah.” To Connies’ question if it was the recording assuming it was. We later determined the distant sounds we recorded were not from another team member nor the call blasting sounds we were periodically playing. Eric Altman says “Can honestly say it wasn’t us.” Then says “we might as well mosey on back up there.” Referring to meeting up with the other teams at the base camp.
1:52 to 1:58 the fourth moan is captured by an unknown source.
Eric Altman says “where is that coming from?” Dave Rupert replies “I don’t know, I think by the vehicles.” Assuming it was coming from near base camp, which again we later found out it was not. Finally you hear the teams gather to discuss what they had heard asking if the sounds were recordings or other team members doing the moans without announcing them. At that time the teams assumed what they heard were recordings being played from the call blasting team, however upon checking with them, it was discovered that it was not the call blasting team, nor any of the teams that were doing the yells.
As the teams were walking back to the base camp to question the group there, three unusual screams were recorded. You will hear Eric Altman walking.
First scream captured at 2:26 to 2:29 on the recording.
The second scream recorded at 2:42 to 2:45.
At 2:47 what sounds like coyote or dog bark is recorded immediately followed by a third scream at 2:50 to 2:54 followed by a yip or bark.
We cannot positively identify the screams as a dog or canine of any kind, but the barks and yips do sound like a coyote or dog.
From 3:00 of the recording to the end of the recording, the teams are asking the other team members and the call blasting group of they in fact were broadcasting the moans we heard. It was determined it was not them broadcasting any moans. They did broadcast the Sierra sounds, whoops followed by knocking which can be heard in other clips, however they did not broadcast nor did any other team members do the moans we heard. They also did not produce the three screams we captured. We have no explanation for the distant moans or the screams captured on this recording.

9-12-2011 1:22 AM Possible Whoop recorded
coming from the Southeast of the construction site.
This recording was recorded by Chris and Connie Brinker at 1:20 AM while they were posted on the north side of the property. The sound recorded came from the southern direction of the property from a wooded area.
We are not sure if this whoop was a team member or part of the recording?
Whoop sound recorded at the 3 second mark.
Followed by Chris Brinker asking “What was that?”

9-12-2011 01:45 Am Multiple knocking sounds recorded.
This recording starts with an electronic call blast from Ron Mooreheads Bigfoot Sounds two from the 3 to 8 second mark.
From the 25 second to 38 second mark, 11 knocks are recorded coming from a wooded hill side above where the team was recording. Chris Brinker is heard immediately following saying “ Is that the guys?” Then another team members says, “That’s Sean walking over here, he’s the guy that lives right over on Kirby Road. ”
Additional knocks can be heard during the talking in the distance at from the 41 second to 45 second mark. .
Then Chris says “ yeah, there’s knocking on up on the hill, so that might be those guys, but that will answer the question about down here.” After checking, we found out no one was on top of the hill knocking.
We can not explain the source of the knocking that was recorded. No one in the group stated they were doing any knocking at that time.

September 17, 2011 10:10 PM Fayette County construction site recording
This sound was recorded on Saturday September 16, 2011 at the same location the sounds were recorded the weekend prior. This sound was recorded approximately 10:00 pm. As you can hear the weather conditions were very windy. Even with a windshield on the Zoom Q3 digital recorder, you could still a lot of wind. We believe this sound may be a bard owl, but the second part of the call is quite different from what we have heard a bard owl make. We are fairly certain it is a Bard owl making the call. However if you have a different idea, or can identify the sound or any of these sounds, please contact us at [email protected].
